Daily Geek Report 04/24/2012

Happy Tuesday all. Supposed to hit 73° today. WEWT!!! Enjoy it.. They are talking crappy weather YET again for this coming weekend….

Google Drive; Cat is out of the box!!! It’s been rumored for the last couple months that they were working on a cloud based storage service similar to iCloud/DropBox/EverNote. What is Google Drive? It’s basically Google Docs.. But you can store more than just docs! You can put your pictures, music, and videos online. Each person is given 5GB of free storage space. If that’s not enough for you here is the price tiers for additional storage:

20 GB ($5.00 USD per year)
80 GB ($20.00 USD per year)
200 GB ($50.00 USD per year)
400 GB ($100.00 USD per year)
1 TB ($256.00 USD per year)
2 TB ($512.00 USD per year)
4 TB ($1,024.00 USD per year)
8 TB ($2,048.00 USD per year)
16 TB ($4,096.00 USD per year)

Google designed/developed Drive to work with all of their products/third party services. You can post pictures from Drive to Google+ and Attach documents directly into e-mails in G-mail. This is only the beginning of where this can go!

Along with Google, A new proof of concept Android Trojan/Virus can track your keystrokes on your screen based on positions that the screen was tapped, and cross referencing that to a digital keyboard map. It can narrow down a four digit PIN to just a few possibilities 100% of thee time and a six digit PIN 80% of the time

Have a great evening everyone!
