Daily Geek Report 11-21-11

Hope you all enjoyed the wonderful snow we got over the weekend! The cold isn’t slowing us down though!

Were you one to buy the first gen Ipod Nano? Well, If you did. And it’s getting beat up. Well good news. Apple is recalling all of their first gens and replacing them with a 90 day warrenty. Turns out, the OG’s have a defect with the batteries where as they get old, the batteries tend to get hot apparently. Get your new one whileit’s hot. (Get it….)

Interested in running Android on your PC? Well, you’re in luck! FXI Technologies’ has come up with a USB device called Cotton Candy to allow us to run Android on pretty much anything. The USB Stick also comes with an HDMI out, so not only can you plug it into a PC, but you can output it to your TV!

Speaking of Android, with the release of Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS), they implemented a new keyboard, a new way to predict text, and an all around better layout. If you’re bummed out that your phone may never see Android 4.0. You may be in luck. Someone pulled the code out of 4.0 and made it available for 2.2 and 2.3 so you can use the keyboard on your phone!

Have a happy Monday!
